Transitional justice: A society at peace with its past is better able to build its future

Addressing the past through truth, justice, reparation and memory is essential to building sustainable peace. In Mozambique, transitional justice must place victims and affected communities at the centre, promote accountability and strengthen institutions to guarantee the non-recurrence of human rights violations.
