SOCIAL COHESION PROGRAM IN NORTHERN MOZAMBIQUE
Training Workshop: RIGHTS-BASED GOVERNANCE FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENTS
The Center for Democracy and Development (CDD) and the Ministry of Justice, Constitutional and Religious Affairs welcome you to the training workshop on “Rights-Based Governance for Local Governments”.
The aim of this workshop is to respond to the need to strengthen the capacity of local formal and informal decision-making institutions to respond to community concerns and initiatives led by youth and women to improve public services, local development and local governance.
The initiative is part of the Social Cohesion Program implemented by CDD, IESE and MASC Foundation, with the support of Swiss Cooperation, which aims to contribute to the strengthening of social cohesion in Northern Mozambique, as well as catalyze the civic engagement of young people and women in social, political and economic spaces and, in this way, contribute to the improvement of local governance, seen from a perspective of realizing the rights of citizens.
The training will be in presence and will benefit benefit 30 representatives of the local governments at the district level and municipalities of the provinces of Nampula (Moma and Angoche), Cabo Delgado (Montepuez and Chiúre) and Niassa (Cuamba and Chimbunila).
The facilitators include academics from universities in the northern region of the country, staff from the Ministry of Justice, Constitutional and Religious Affairs and the CDD.
